Ray LaMontagne is on the mend after an onstage health scare.
The folk singer caused concern on Sept. 5 when he collapsed while performing at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville.
As seen in footage circulating on social media, LaMontagne was strumming the final few chords to his 2004 single “Jolene” when he let out a soft grunt and keeled over to the floor. As the audience gasped, members of his band rushed over to his side.
The 53-year-old’s team later released a statement sharing that Montagne was “being treated for heat related dehydration,” according to Consequence of Sound.
“Ray is in good hands with the local EMS,” read the statement, which was shared on the Grammy winner’s Instagram Story. “He is doing well now and is grateful for everyone’s understanding.”
The temperature in Nashville reached a high of 101 degrees on the day of the concert, according to AccuWeather.
