After introducing moviegoing audiences to a 1930s film noir take on Marvel’s most famous web-slinger in Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, Nicolas Cage is bringing the hard-boiled superhero gumshoe to the small screen in the new series Spider-Noir.
The screen legend brings his signature “mega-acting” to Prime Video in a new Marvel series, based on the original comic created by writers David Hine, Fabrice Sapolsky, and artist Carmine Di Giandomenico. Introduced to a wider audience in Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, Cage’s Spider-Noir became a fan-favorite thanks to his pulpy, hard-boiled edge given to him by the actor, standing in stark contrast to more traditional versions of the hero.

The live-actionSpider-Noir series, starring Nicolas Cage, will consist of eight episodes.The series is expected to drop all episodes at once as a binge release onPrime Videoon May 27, 2026, following a premiere of the first episode onMGM+ on May 25, 2026.
Who stars inSpider-Noir?
Cage stars in the series as Ben Reilly, a private investigator in 1930s New York, who becomes The Spider. He is joined in the cast by Lamorne Morris, Brendan Gleeson, Abraham Popoola, Li Jun li, Karen Rodriguez, and Jack Huston as series regulars. Guest-starring in the show are Lukas Haas, Cameron Britton, Cary Christopher, Michael Kostroff, Scott MacArthur, Joe Massingill, Whitney Rice, Amanda Schull, Andrew Caldwell, Amy Aquino, Andrew Robinson, and Kai Caster.
In a featurette video from Prime Video about the series’ villains, it was confirmed that Gleeson will play Silvermane and Huston will play a version of Flint Marko, also known as Sandman. Popoola takes on Tombstone in an interpretation that “links the classic character to a grounded story,” while Caldwell will portray the electrifying Megawatt/Dirk.

The series will be presented in both black-and-white, as seen in the photo, and in color.
The show’s first two episodes are executive-produced and directed by Henry Bradbeer. Oren Uziel and Steve Lightfoot serve as co-showrunners and executive producers. The duo developed the show with the team behind Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, including Phil Lord, Christopher Miller, and Amy Pascal, who all serve as executive producers.
Spider-Noir will debut on MGM+’s linear channel before being available to stream globally on Amazon Prime Video the next day.

Spider-Noir is produced by Sony Pictures Television exclusively for MGM+ and Prime Video. Emmy Award-winning director Harry Bradbeer directed and executive produced the first two episodes. Oren Uziel and Steve Lightfoot serve as co-showrunners and executive producers. Uziel and Lightfoot developed the series with the Academy Award-winning team behind Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse: Phil Lord, Christopher Miller, and Amy Pascal. Lord and Miller executive produce for their shingle Lord Miller, along with Aditya Sood and Dan Shear. Amy Pascal also serves as an executive producer via Pascal Pictures. Cage and Pavlina Hatoupis also serve as executive producers.
Is there a trailer?
Indeed. A full trailer — available in both “authentic black & white” and “true hue” — was released on April 25, featuring Ben as he is hired by Li Jun Li’s Cat Hardy (Black Cat) to find a missing friend (Jack Huston as Sandman). Parts of Ben’s tragic backstory, as well as his superpowers, are on display, while his friend Robbie Robertson (played by Lamorne Morris) tells him “he hasn’t been the same since Ruby died.” Other super-abled beings are showcased, as well as a little body horror featuring spiders.
