No gigs, no bars, no fun. We’ve only just hit April, and it’s clear 2020 should get in the trash.
Adam Sander told it the way it is during his chat with Jimmy Fallon for The Tonight Show host’s latest “At Home” edition.
This time, Sandler came prepared with a guitar, mirrored glasses, and a set of fresh lyrics reflecting these trying times.
The Uncut Gems star debuted a “quarantine song,” penned by writer, producer and pianist Dan Bulla.
On it, Sander sings, “Doctors and nurses will save us from this mess if we gave them the supplies that they need/ And I hope they save us soon because I’m feeling really sick of my family.”
The ditty also includes this memorable line: “I’m teaching math to my kids and that can’t be good for America.”
It’s funny because it’s true.
Music has always been a big part of Sander’s career. An ASCAP member for nearly 30 years, Sander has more than 250 works registered with the PRO. He has released six albums receiving four Grammy nominations, with two certified double platinum, and he was recently honored with the ASCAP Founders Award at the 37th annual 2020 Pop Music Awards.
