Mariah Carey may have just broken several records with her timeless holiday classic “All I Want For Christmas Is You” but Taylor Swift could be coming for her throne. Today, the singer announced on Twitter that she will be dropping a surprise Christmas song at midnight tonight.

“Pretty wild, but I’ve just written a Christmas song,” she said in a video posted to Twitter.

In the video, Swift says, “I feel like it’s weird to just like wait a year to put it out.” Feigning indecision, she looks to her cat Meredith for advice. “When in doubt, ask the itty bitty pretty kitty committee,” Swift wrote on Twitter. “When they shun you with silence, ambivalence, and judgmental brush offs… just put the song out anyway.”

The song will be accompanied by a music video “made from home videos 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦,” according to Swift’s tweet, and will be released exclusively on Good Morning America on Friday morning.

This isn’t Swift’s first foray into holiday music though. In 2007, she released the Taylor Swift Holiday Collection EP featuring covers of “Last Christmas,” “White Christmas,” “Silent Night” and “Santa Baby” as well as two original tracks, “Christmases When You Were Mine” and “Christmas Must Be Something More.”
