TV Ratings: Little Mermaid Live Hits High Notes for ABC, This Is Us Hits New Lows

ABC took viewers on an exciting journey Tuesday night with The Little Mermaid Live!

The two-hour telecast had 9 million total viewers and a 2.6 rating in the demo, easily leading the night in adults 18-49, 18-34 (2.0 rating), and 25-54 (3.2 rating).

The strong lead-in also helped Emergence leap 35% in the demo to a 0.7 rating, and over 30% in total viewers to 3.5 million viewers. 

The demo tally is a best since premiere result.

Over on NBC, This Is Us came down to 6.7 million total viewers and a 1.3 rating, hitting new series lows.

The hit drama has been experiencing a ratings erosion of late. 

Before that, The Voice inched up a tenth to 8.1 million viewers and a 1.3 rating. 

New Amsterdam (5 million/0.7 rating) closed the night for NBC at season lows. 

The Resident (3.4 million/0.7 rating) returned steady for FOX, but Empire (2.5 million/0.7 rating) hit new lows in both the demo and total viewers.

NCIS (10.7 million/1.0 rating) was down a tenth to a season low, while FBI (8.5 million/0.8 rating) and NCIS: New Orleans (6.6 million/0.7 rating) held steady.

The Flash (1.2 million/0.4 rating) and Arrow (0.6 million/0.2 rating) both came down to series lows. 

Looks like The Little Mermaid took a bite out of the competition!
