The lingerie blogger and author of In Intimate Detail itemizes her favourite things to eat, buy, binge-watch, and more.

Cora Harrington is on a mission to change the way the world thinks about lingerie. If the term calls to mind frivolous frippery, Harrington is here to remind you that beneath all the fuss, lingerie is a complicated form of structural engineering. Since starting her blog, The Lingerie Addict, in 2008, Harrington has become something of a myth-buster in the lingerie world, publishing brutally honest reviews, clapping back at uninformed critical takes and reminding everyone they should probably be paying more for bras. (“That $5 bra…the person who made that was paid pennies,” she told Jezebel last year.) Her book, In Intimate Detail, is an account of her deep knowledge and appreciation for the technical as well as the aesthetic aspects of lingerie. We asked Harrington about her favourite things.

The book you can’t stop thinking about?

Circe by Madeline Miller. I tend to miss a lot of boats in terms of what’s popular in the literary world. However, I love Greek mythology so I picked this up on a friend’s recommendation and immediately fell in love. I’ve lost track of how many times I’ve recommended this book in the past year. A close second is The Book of Strange New Things by Michel Faber. The revelation near the end still blows me away.

The show you can’t stop bingeing?

There’s not a new season at the moment, but I have to say Great British Baking Show. It is the most wholesome thing.

The song that gets stuck in your head all the time?

“Same Ol’ Mistakes” by Rihanna.

The website or social media account you cant stop fave-ing?

I like practically everything @officiallymosh posts.

What is the last thing you bought?

Half a dozen Bosc pears.

What can’t you get enough of right now?

For some reason, after years of going without it, I’ve picked up drinking Diet Coke again and now I can’t get enough.

What’s the one thing you’re currently recommending to all your friends?

Underwear from Egretta Garzetta! I know her briefs are pricier than what most people are used to paying for underwear, but they are the most comfortable pairs I own and they last forever. Plus, you’re supporting an indie designer!

What’s the one brand staple you always rely on?

Natori Feathers. This is my absolutely my go-to bra.

What’s a left-field pop culture recommendation from a friend or critic you unexpectedly fell for?

It’s not exactly left field, but I did recently pick up all the issues of Switch, which is a new take on the Witchblade mythos. I used to be an avid comics reader, but it’s been awhile. That series has me thinking about getting into comics again.

Anything you’re super late on the bandwagon for but are now obsessed with?

Pose!!! I missed out on the first season, then decided to watch one episode late at night on Netflix and couldn’t stop. I finished them all within a day, and now I’m hooked.

What’s your biggest extravagance?

Champagne. For me, every day is a special occasion when it comes to bubbly.
