Tyrell Zimmerman Celebrity Children’s Author Reads Across America with the NFL

Books

March 2, 2022 was National Read across America Day. The day was established by the National Education Association (NEA) in 1998 to help get kids excited about reading.

March 2, 2022 was also National Tackle Reading Day, which is an event where Current and former NFL athletes donate their time to serve as readers for the day in elementary schools around the country. This philanthropic event is provided at no cost for schools.

This year Celebrity Children’s Author, Tyrell Zimmerman, read his internationally recognized children’s book, titled, “Carter: My Dream, My Reality”, to several classrooms in Atlanta Public Schools.

Tyrell Zimmerman stood alongside many NFL players, musicians, entertainers, and actors. However, the gentle giant stood out amongst them all, as he captured the attention and wowed the children with his relevant and real-life illustrations inside of his children’s book.

Tyrell’s book is centered around trauma and mental health in children, which is a very important issue that is starting to get attention in America today.

Tyrell’s book is also featured in the NFL Legends Resource Library for current and former players, and their families to utilize as a resource. Tyrell is proud of this unique partnership with the NFL.

He applauds the NFL and its efforts to support literacy, mental health, and trauma especially in urban communities.

“Reading is FUNdamental, therefore we must make it FUN to address the Mental”

Tyrell’s book, “Carter: My Dream, My Reality”,  can be found at every major distributor.
