Renee Zellweger shared her triumph at the 2020 Critics’ Choice Awards with the women who inspire her, including the muse behind her superlative performance in Judy and the talents who shared her category, too.

After winning best actress for portraying Judy Garland in the Rupert Goold-directed biopic of the late actress and singer, Zellweger began by shouting out many of the actresses nominated at this year’s ceremony, who included Jennifer Lopez, Laura Dern, Cynthia Erivo, Awkwafina, Lupita Nyong’o, Nicole Kidman and more.

“I admire you and your work, and the women that you are in the world representing this community,” she said. “You made me proud to be part of it.”

She proceeded to thank her colleagues and family, and wrapped with a moving sentiment for the icon who lived the life she played in ”a movie I love, a life experience I treasure.”

“I feel so lucky to be a part of this celebration of the importance of Judy Garland’s legacy, and her humanity, and everything that she taught us…” she said. “Thank you one more time for the ride of a lifetime.”
