Think 70s’s, think Blondie ‘Call me’, think retro and edgy rock pop and put this eclectic mix together with a dash of femme fatale and you have The FMs brand new single ‘Change Your Men Up’
Change Your Men Up has everything that an upbeat 70s glam punk pop song would have, but with a rock n roll twist. The electric guitars provide the background melody to accompany the female empowerment message of ‘Change your men up and stop the toxic love’.
The Brooklyn based group combine elements of synth pop with a punk rock n roll attitude and incorporate ideas of gender bending and gender fluidity. In a lyrical story that resonates with millennials, and has already been compared to The Eurthymics and there is good reason as to why! Patrick Seymour of the Eurthymics actually remixed Change Your Men Up and the electro synthesized sounds of catchy chorus really draw comparisons to some of The Eurythmics greatest hits!
The rebellious lyrics, inviting listeners to stand up to toxic love and to take the power back from men in relationships and be strong and independent really resonate with young people of today. Even though the song has the 70’s feel it is just as relevant as todays political and social climate as ever. At a time when young people, in particular women, are rising up to let their voices be heard and to declare their independence this song empowers youth and encourages strength and independence.
The catchy riff and chorus sticks in your head like glue and you can’t help but to start to nod your head and move your hips. Grab a beer, put on your dancing shoes and away you go! ‘Change Your Men Up’ will have you playing the track on repeat while you’re driving down the highway or heading to your local tavern.
What are you waiting for, find your voice, take the lead and ‘Change Your Men Up’ now!
