Kid Cudi treated fans to a special surprise during his Saturday night (Aug. 3) headlining set at HARD Summer Fest in California. Cudder paused in the midst of performing 2010’s “Erase Me” to let the crowd know that they would be the first to experience the Steve Aoki-assisted dance remix to the Man On the Moon, Vol. II: The Legend of Mr. Rager standout.

“What you’re about to hear now, my good friend Steve Aoki, he remixed ‘Erase Me.’ I thought it would be cool to do for this movie I’m shooting, Bill & Ted, so I thought I’d debut it tonight,” Cudi told the frenzied festivalgoers. ”It’d only be right for us to lose our fucking minds together for the first time.”

Back in June, it was announced that Kid Cudi would join the likes of Keanu Reeves on the cast of Bill & Ted Face the Music. Now, we know he will also contribute to the film’s soundtrack.

“Erase Me” isn’t the only Man On the Moon, Vol. II cut to receive the remix treatment. Kid Cudi revealed during a fan Q&A on Twitter in June that Jay-Z laid a verse to “Wild’n Cuz I’m Young,” which also remains in the vault to this day. ”Gonna try to release that someday. It’s fuckin epic,” he wrote.
