John Prine Postpones Summer Tour Dates Due to Upcoming Surgery

John Prine is postponing several summer tour dates due to an upcoming surgery, the Prine family and Oh Boy Records announced Tuesday (July 23).

“In consultation with his doctors, John has been advised that he has an elevated risk for a stroke,” said a message on the singer’s website. “He will have surgery this week to insert a stent which will remedy the issue. He looks forward to a full and speedy recovery.”

All of Prine’s postponed tour dates will be resecheduled, and all original tickets will remain valid. However, refunds will also be available at the original point of purchase.

The full list of Prine’s postponed tour dates are below. 

July 28 – Red Rocks – Morrison, CO (rescheduled for September 18, 2019)
July 30 – Red Butte Gardens – Salt Lake City, UT
August 2 – Oregon Zoo – Portland, OR
August 4 – Woodland Park Zoo – Seattle,  WA
August 6 – Queen Elizabeth Theatre – Vancouver, BC
August 8 – Shaw Amphitheatre – Banff, AB
August 9 – Jack Singer PAC  Calgary, AB
August 11- Edmonton Folk Festival – Edmonton, AB
