More than 300,000 Starbucks drinks have been recalled by PepsiCo, after glass was found in some of its bottles.
The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) said 25,200 cases of the vanilla Frappuccino chilled coffee drink were recalled after the detection of the material inside the 405ml bottles.
There are twelve bottles in each case, which means 302,400 are part of the recall.
The recall was classified as class two, which the FDA says is “a situation in which use of, or exposure to, a violative product may cause temporary or medically reversible adverse health consequences or where the probability of serious adverse health consequences is remote”.
According to the notice, which was initiated on 28 January, the expiration dates for the affected bottles are 8 March, 29 May, 4 June and 10 June, all for 2023.

Starbucks drinks are often sold in several retail chains across the US including Walmart, Amazon and Target.
The North American Coffee Partnership, a subsidiary formed by Starbucks and PepsiCo to make and sell drinks, told Insider that “the removal of these products from the marketplace is currently under way”.
It added: “The North American Coffee Partnership is committed to a high level of quality in the products we serve.
“Delivering a quality experience to our consumers is our top priority and we always act with an abundance of caution whenever a potential concern is raised.”
The FDA notice does not mention if any injuries have been reported and there is no information on how the glass was discovered.
