A woman allegedly bit her sister’s eye partially out during a drunken fight.
Ashleigh Mason, 26, was intoxicated when she and her sibling got into an altercation while in a car in Utah, according to arresting documents.
Mason grabbed her sister’s hair, pulled her forward and bit into her left eye, causing part of it to be ripped out.
She then ran off and hid in a nearby garden, US officers said.
Local NBC news station KSL TV reported Mason was “extremely intoxicated” and screaming loud enough for neighbours to hear when they found her in Salt Lake City.
According to paramedics, the sister’s eye would need plastic surgery to repair it, the channel added.
Police believe the tear duct was ripped out but said they couldn’t initially tell “because of the blood”.
Mason, originally from New Mexico, was arrested and held in custody facing aggravated assault, disorderly conduct, and intoxication charges.
