Andrew Garfield Would Love to Reunite with Tom Holland and Tobey Maguire

Movies

MAJOR SPOILERS for Spider-Man: No Way Home incoming, so if you have yet to see one of the biggest movies of all time, please look away now.

The Amazing Spider-Man star Andrew Garfield is now back in the superhero fray thanks to the multiversal events of Spider-Man: No Way Home, and the actor has now stated that he would love to team up with fellow Spider-People Tom Holland Tobey Maguire all over again. Speaking on the Happy Sad Confused podcast, Garfield said he is hugely “satisfied and grateful” to have been a part of Spider-Man: No Way Home, but would love the opportunity to bring back the “three-brother dynamic” all over again.

“I would love to continue to work with Tobey and with Tom. That three-brother dynamic is so juicy. But to be honest…I’m so happy and satisfied and grateful to be a part of this that it’s hard to want more right now. I’m really trying to savor this moment with the fans, with the audience, and say thank you. I feel very very humbled and grateful for the response.”

Spider-Man: No Way Home finds Tom Holland’s Peter Parker struggling to live with his secret identity exposed. In desperation, he turns to his friend and superhero colleague Doctor Strange, asking The Master of the Mystic Arts to use his magic and make everyone forget that Peter Parker is Spider-Man. Thanks to Peter’s infamous inability to stop talking, the spell goes wrong, unleashing the multiverse and allowing several heroes and villains from prior Spider-Man franchises to enter the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

The MCU outing culminates in an epic showdown between this assortment of villains and a trio of Spider-Men, with both Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire reprising their respective roles all these years later to fight side-by-side with Tom Holland. A hugely satisfying, wonderfully crowd-pleasing moment, audiences would no doubt love to see the three actors come together again in a future Spider-Man movie.

Morbius-Garfield
Sony

Now that Andrew Garfield’s The Amazing Spider-Man has been re-established, many have wondered whether he will continue his tenure as the Marvel hero, and what form this might take. A recent delay to upcoming Sony release, Morbius, has sparked much speculation that this extra time will be used to add Andrew Garfield to the movie, and thus make him the Spider-Man of Sony’s Venom-Verse.

The overwhelmingly positive response to Andrew Garfield’s return as Peter Parker has also now led to many calling for Sony to greenlight The Amazing Spider-Man 3. It is likely that, thanks to the monumental success of Spider-Man: No Way Home, Sony will be wondering whether The Amazing Spider-Man 3 is worth a punt, and, for what it’s worth, Garfield himself sounds eager to continue The Amazing Spider-Man’s story.

“In terms of moving forward with the character, yes, I am definitely open to that, and again, it would have to be something very unique, very special, and of service to an audience, of service to the character,” Garfield said. “I think there’s something playful and unique and odd and unexpected to be done. I’m not sure what that is, but if we could figure that out, it would be so much fun.”

Whether Andrew Garfield suits up again for The Amazing Spider-Man 3, pays another visit to Tom Holland’s Peter Parker in the MCU, or perhaps even both, it’s certainly looking like audiences could see a lot more from The Amazing Spider-Man star going forward.
