Charlotte de Witte is an undisputed, driving force in techno and the DJ/producer’s newly released three-track EP demonstrates her pedal-to-the-floor ambition with expert flair.
The Formula EP, out now on Charlotte’s own KNTXT label, exists in a space where RPM meets BPM. By bringing the exhilarating world of motorsports directly into the mix, she cultivates a truly unique and thrilling ride from start to finish.
First up, “Doppler” is poised as a heavyweight techno weapon, complete with shifting rhythm, lively rave alarm action, and SFX straight from the raceway. “RPM” boasts blistering acid lines with gritty undertones and dark, unrelenting energy. Title track “Formula” finishes strong with haunting melodic loops and revving engines — and, oh yes, more acid.
