2 New Birds of Prey Posters Bring the Mayhem at CCXP

Movies

Two new Birds of Prey posters have been released. Margot Robbie and the rest of the cast were on hand at CCXP in Brazil to debut some exclusive footage. The scene in question has yet to make it online and it more than likely will not. With that being said, the release date is just around the corner, so we’ll be getting a better look at the upcoming movie in the near future. The new posters come after an exclusive CCXP poster and a set of character posters that were released over the weekend.

The latest Birds of Prey posters feature Margot Robbie’s Harley Quinn, Jurnee Smollett-Bell’s Black Canary, Mary Elizabeth Winstead’s Huntress, Rosie Perez’s Renee Montoya, and Ella Jay Basco’s Cassandra Cain. Sadly, Bernie the Beaver is not featured in either poster. Both posters tease some unhinged action, just like the recent trailer does.

Even though we’ve seen footage from Birds of Prey, it’s still hard to get a handle on what the exact tone of the movie is. It seems to be a little all over the place, which could be perfect for Harley Quinn. During CCXP, they did show the opening scene from the movie, which shows Harley Quinn and Joker breaking up.

Margot Robbie and the Birds of Prey cast received a warm welcome from the CCXP crowd earlier this weekend. In addition, the footage that was shown has been praised on social media by those who were lucky enough to be in the building. Robbie and crew are very proud of the movie, which comes with an R-rating. Robbie was intent on making a gritty R-rated movie from the start, noting that she didn’t want the project to be lumped in with the other female-led superhero movies.

Birds of Prey was just one of the many projects Warner Bros. and DC promoted at CCXP. Wonder Woman 1984 is the big one, especially with Patty Jenkins and Gal Gadot personally premiering the first Wonder Woman 1984 trailer for the enthusiastic crowd and the world. The sequel looks completely different from what Margot Robbie has done with Harley Quinn. In Addition, Warner Bros. officially announced Shazam! 2 is happening, but did not announce a release date. Matt Reeves and James Gunn both delivered video messages, with Reeves revealing that he’ll be at CCXP next year with some footage. Gunn just delivered a hello from The Suicide Squad set. He did not reveal if he’ll be at the annual event next year, but he has called it his favorite Comic-Con more than once.

DC fans have a lot to look forward over the next few months and years. Birds of Prey will be the first release of 2020 and it is looking to see a pretty weird tone. How will Harley Quinn be without the Joker at her side? As it turns out, she might be a lot better for it, depending on your outlook. For now, you can take a look at the new Birds of Prey posters below, thanks to Warner Bros.
