Meeting people is easy, especially when they are wearing a super-convincing version of one of your stage outfits. That’s the lesson Slipknot singer Corey Taylor learned recently when he ran into a shockingly spot-on Maggot doppelgänger at a backstage meet-and-greet. In a video posted by a fan account, Taylor is seemingly spooked when he spots a fan dressed up in a very convincing version of his stage outfit from the Gray Chapter period.
The superfan, wearing a mask and jumpsuit with all the right patches greets Taylor, who immediately turns around and dunks his head in a bucket of cold water and yelps before asking the mega-me to sign his belly with a Sharpie. “Now I can leave,” Taylor jokes as the some other fans waiting their turn laugh at the meet ugly. Taylor then slips into Maggot mode and begins acting like a starry-eyed admirer, asking Other Corey if the band is going to play the 2003 Freddy Vs. Jason soundtrack song “Snap.”
It all ends in smiles when Taylor finally signs something for his biggest admirer.
