It launches in-store and online today.

Canadian designer Hayley Elsaaesser is today debuting a new line of clothing made exclusively for Quebec-based retailer Simons. Specifically, its Twik section which brings trend-led items to the millennial customer at a lower price point than some of its other offerings.

The collection include eight pieces – a variety of tops, dresses, pants and a skirt – and features the designer’s signature printed aesthetic. For this collection, the Toronto-based designer drew inspiration from Canada, bringing in mountain, wave and cowboy hat motifs to her prints. The pieces are also finished in an array of candy-coloured hues.

Speaking of the collection, Elseasser (whose designs have been worn by the likes of Miley Cyrus and Alessia Cara) said, “When I think of a place that really represents Canada as a physical landscape, I think of British Columbia. I was born in Vancouver and I love the mix of the natural elements of the ocean and the mountains, juxtaposed against a beautiful city. I think this represents Canada so well and was a major starting point for the collection.” She can also distill the essence of the collection in three words: “Colourful Canadian chaos.”

In terms of the fabrics, the fall-ready pieces are finished in denim, knit, neoprene and fleece (the latter of which is “a nod to Canadiana”, she says) and are priced between $39-$69.

This isn’t the first time the Canadian designer has collaborated with a major name. Previously, Elsaesser (who launched her label in Australia ahead of moving back to Canada) has worked with Nike, Microsoft, Barbie and My Little Pony. Simons also has a rich history of collaboration, previously partnering with TOMS, Catherine Lavoie, Marie-Eve Lecavalier, Kate Pugsley and more.
