No, we’re not kidding.

I have not spoken the words “temporary tattoos” in about 18 years, so you can imagine my surprise when a news item came across my desk announcing luxury scent label Diptyque is launching scented temporary tattoos. This is the kind of luxury living my 12 year old self aspired to and here we are — what a time to be alive.

The tattoos (also referred to as “perfumed stickers for skin” by the brand) are made from black satin and are launching on September 2. They are available in three of Diptyque’s signature scents and in three designs: Do Son (which comes in the form of a tuberose flower), Eau Rose (a rose, obviously) and L’Ombre dans L’Eau (characterized by a swan).

The idea is that you apply the tattoo/sticker to an area of your body — like your wrist, neck or shoulder — and enjoy the diffusion of the scent throughout the day. Plus, each one (there’s five in a pack) can be reused multiple times.

And in case that wasn’t enough to satiate your scent needs, as part of the new Prêts-à-Parfumer collection, Diptyque is also launching a scented bracelet and a scented brooch.

The monochromatic rope bracelet comes in a lengthy six metres so you can size as necessary and is available in three scents — Do Son, Eau Rose and Tam Dao. The gold-plated brooch, designed in the shape of a sweet bird, has a compartment at the back of it into which you can put your choice of three mini solid perfumes. The brooch is available in Do Son, Eau Rose and Fleur De Peau, meaning you can switch up your scent as you please.

Upon release, the temporary tattoos will cost around $75, the bracelet around $120 and the brooch around $160. But indulging your pre-teen self with such a millennial buy? Priceless.
