A$AP Rocky has been released from Swedish jail, according to The Associated Press. The ruling came down on Friday (Aug. 2) as Rocky’s trial came to a close, and he is free to return home to the United States while awaiting a verdict, which is expected to come down by Aug. 14.
The other two defendants that were locked up with Rocky have also been released from Swedish detention after the judge found them not to be a flight risk. a pair of eyewitnesses pleaded with the prosecution that they did not see Rocky using any sort of bottle as a weapon during the altercation. Swedish prosecutors reportedly want to see the Harlem native spend six months behind bars on assault charges.
President Donald Trump also chimed in on Rocky’s freedom following his release. “A$AP Rocky released from prison and on his way home to the United States from Sweden. It was a Rocky Week, get home ASAP A$AP,” he tweeted.
