Review: Ian Guerin “Free Time” by Jason Prince & Oli London

Music

Think of your most romantic Barry White moment, then add a twist of modern retro Mark Ronson style production and an extremely talented white artist with a Bruno Mars-esque vocal, that will give you just a taste of how retro-fabulous the single ‘Free Time’ by Ian Guerin is.

On First glance, Ian reminds us of a modern day ‘Marc Almond’ but his music style is far from 80’s cheese, in fact without visuals it would be easy to mistake Ian’s vocals for that of an incredibly talented black soul singer.

“Free Time” is the ultimate breakup/makeup song that can pull at the heart strings of even the most cynical ‘no such thing as love’ pessimists.

Memories of long lost love affairs come flooding back to me with years of suppressed raw emotion rising up to the surface.

Beautiful real lyrics that resonate with emotions and stunning melodies and harmonies to fall in love with. Even a spoken ‘Barry White’ middle 8.

Anyone with a lost love that wants to re-kindle the flame should be adding this to their playlist and sending it to their estranged partner. 100% pure love.

5/5 Stars
